As a student who enjoyed biology and anatomy courses, and was aware of my passion for caring for animals, I already knew early on in my high school career that I wanted to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. However, when I started shadowing Dr. Hannah's appointments and helping her out in my junior year of high school, I grew even more fascinated by the demands as well as the rewards of the profession, and my goals to attend veterinary school were strengthened. During my days with Dr. Hannah, whether these were days receiving patients at the Cedarbrook Farm or driving from city to city visiting equines during farm calls, I was able to assist her with tasks ranging from ones as simple as cleaning tools for dental floats, to eventually more complex ones as giving intramuscular injections to horses as well as drawing blood. On some days, I was even able to observe Dr. Hannah during her acupuncture and chiropractic appointments, during which I was able to learn more about and witness the positive effects these treatments can have on her patients. Over my time shadowing Dr. Hannah, she became not only an insightful mentor but also one of my greatest inspirations due to her incredible compassion and wisdom of veterinary medicine that I witnessed in every appointment and interaction with her patients and clients.

When I was recommended to Cedarbrook Veterinary Care, I had no idea how lucky I was to find a veterinary practice with exceptional empathy, diligent work, and dedication. Dr. Hannah offers an extremely unique, hands-on veterinary experience. As a student with less equine experience, I immediately felt welcome on ride-alongs thanks to Dr. Hannah's calm and trusting demeanor. Along with learning about her equine veterinary practice, I have learned much about holistic and alternative medicinal approaches and the importance of customer service. After a ride-along with Dr. Hannah, your legs may be sore and your clothes may be dirty, but your heart will be happy and your mind will be full.
